Per the 35+ job seekers and feedback from all, it was yet another great CCR panel this month with representatives from City Wide Maintenance, Hallmark Cards, Quintiles, Paycor, and Convergys. One job seeker asked, “does the CCR bring in panelist like this each month” and the answer is YES! In addition to weekly meetings, the CCR has for 3+ years conducted a monthly Panel Roundtable that allows employers to meet qualified potential employees in a casual and productive environment.
1] By attending a CCR Roundtable, the job seeker has an inside contact with that company for the future.
2] It’s not just a referral, it is a ‘meaningful referral’.
3] More and more companies are hiring from within, do not be afraid to start at a different position and fast track to your desired position.
4] If you are not qualified, do not apply and at the same time remember that as important as skills are, fitting in is often more important.
This month’s ‘Panel Roundtable’ was held Saturday (01.28.12) with representatives from Huhtamaki, TK Architects, KansasWorks, and Baker University.
Also in attendance were 25 professional and qualified Job Seekers (from as far away as Topeka, KS). Our panelist shared some 45 current openings and spoke to their respective company plans for growth in 2012, as well as company culture.
Each Panelist agreed that the CCR Panel Roundtable provided a casual and yet professional venue for both the potential employer and the future employee to take that first step in building a mutually beneficial relationship.
One Job Seeker commented, “why wouldn’t anyone who is in transition not attend?”

Our Christmas panel was 100% Job Club Alumni paying it forward by representing their current employers which include American Academy of Family Physicians, Combined Arms Center, Comcast, JP Morgan, KCPL, and Kincaid Coach. Each guest touched on their respective company culture and growth. Over 60 postings were shared with 20+ qualified job seekers in attendance.
CCR presented its November 19th Roundtable, with representatives from Baker University, Garmin International, Robbie Flexibles, JCCC, Macy’s, Workforce Partnership, and UMB Bank. Each guest touched on their respective company culture and growth. Over 140 postings were shared with over 35+ qualified job seekers in attendance.
